"Jelly Dream"
Inspired from the beauty of jellyfish with surrealism, alternative materials, and vintage clothing silhouettes develop into a sustainable fashion thinking process. The objective is to create a sustainable fashion collection by using circular design principles, transforming waste into artistry evoking dreamlike quality of marine life. The concept of surreal beauty inspired by jellyfish transcends traditional design by a Victorian infant's pajamas with a soft curved structure to recall the wonder of the dream world. The design has the shape of a jellyfish, using the lightweight fabric, consisting of the technique of heat-pressing plastic elastic bands onto the tulle fabric to create a colorful fabric pattern shimmers when moving, giving a sense of vitality. Another technique is tie-dyeing colorful fabrics in shades of the sea, such as blue, pink, and green, to convey the fantasy of the underwater world, and the other technique of fluorescence printing glow in the dark substances in the dream catcher pattern, adding innovation in fabric printing that can change according to the light conditions, blurring the line between reality and imagination. The circular design is applied to take discarded plastic waste and mass products from the industrial sector that are affecting the environment and turn them into art. The outcome is a new exploration in sustainable fashion, showcasing how repurposed materials can yield beautiful, high-impact textiles with intricate textures and captivating aesthetics, pushing the boundaries of artistic and sustainable design that helps create environmental awareness.
