CREATIVE WORK
"Body 1"
The artist presents a mixed-media painting that explores diverse surface textures using acrylic paint, oil paint, and additional materials. The work draws inspiration from the female form, which is re-arranged and interconnected in a simplified visual structure through the careful balance of addition and reduction of detail. These elements are combined with symbolic forms that support the intended meaning, conveying an interpretation of beauty within the context of contemporary society and reflecting the artist’s personal perspective on social experience.
The artwork, entitled Body 1, reveals directional lines derived from representations of the female body that are merged to create new, continuous forms. The composition is constructed through geometric divisions of color, resulting in an image that appears to be formed from numerous small fragments unified into a cohesive whole.
Textures and colors produced through palette knife techniques establish a harmonious relationship among the visual elements. Selected areas of negative space are covered with gold leaf to introduce contrasting surface qualities. This contrast creates visual tension and enhances the clarity of the narrative through the interaction of color and texture.
