"XI XI Table"
This creative design is a table that can be adjusted in size and shape of the table space where users can perform multiple activities at the same time for Generation Y who are looking for more value from multi-purpose furniture for living in their space. The product is called Xi Xi in Chinese, which means good luck, prosperity, wealth and is similar to the number four (4) in Thai, indicating the use of the table that can be adjusted in 4 different ways and can 4 people can sit at the table together.
For this project, the researcher was inspired by the design concept of “modular design”. The Prajamyam flower pattern which is a basic Thai pattern, it has 4 petals, has the same form and size, and has a clear geometric module structure. This makes it conducive to designing in the form of contraction and expansion of overlapping areas, creating plane layers of table space that are suitable for various uses as the concept of “Modular System”.
