Inspiration: My inspiration, though, for my artwork “Conatus” arises from a personal experience of depression and persistent stress caused by immersion in mass digital data. The endless flow of information, signals, and algorithmic demands overwhelms the mind, creating exhaustion, emotional numbness, and a sense of isolation within a technologically saturated world.

Concept of Artwork: The work explores depression as a posthuman condition, where mind and body are inseparable from technological systems. Numbers, codes, and algorithms organise reality with precision, yet quietly erode human sensitivity. Technology becomes both shelter and pressure, something we accept to function, while losing parts of ourselves in the process. My artwork “Conatus” reflects the struggle to persist when perception is mediated, reality is generated, and belief feels unstable. It asks what is real, what is constructed, and what remains of the self under constant control.

Techniques: Intense audiovisual layering translates mental pressure into sensory experience. Visuals include shockwaves, lightning, rain, laser beams, digital distortion, white noise, and light flashes. Sound elements, explosions, thunder, rain, AI-like voices, textures, laser tones, and noise accumulate and fracture, mirroring emotional overload and psychological collapse.

Objectives: To express depression and stress within a posthuman world and reality, and to question human persistence amid data-driven systems.

Result: “Conatus” creates an immersive, unstable space where natural forces and artificial signals collide, placing the viewer inside the quiet struggle to continue within systems that never rest
