Communication is a crucial factor for human survival. Humans need to communicate various meanings in order to live their lives. Communication plays a vital role in human life, enabling social interaction, understanding within communities, progress in knowledge, and the development and transmission of knowledge in other areas. Surasit Witiyarath (2006) defines communication as the transmission of ideas, knowledge, understanding, and feelings about various matters from one person to another, resulting in mutual understanding.

Khlong Saen Saep community is an ancient community that has been a part of Bangkok since the reign of King Rama III. Khlong Saen Saep was dug to connect the Chao Phraya River and the Bang Pakong River, serving as a route for transporting food supplies and the royal army. This led to a large influx of people settling along the canal due to its convenient waterways and trade routes.

Khlong Saen Saep stretches from Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem to Hua Mak today, from the Maha Kan Fort to the intersection at Pak Khlong 14 in Min Buri District. It is a waterway with significant physical characteristics, usable land, and unique cultural value. The community is a traditional settlement with interesting arts and culture, as well as a way of life where residents have preserved their original community identity within an urban society.

Thirteen traditional communities have been identified, including Masjid Mahanak Community, Wat Borom Niwat Community, Ban Khrua Community, Ban Don Mosque Community, Nuan Noi Community, Daeng Mosque Community, and Sai Kong Din Community. These areas reflect a blend of Thai culture, ethnic groups, and the Islamic faith.

Ban Khrua is a community of significant cultural and historical importance. Located along Khlong Saen Saep in Bangkok, it covers approximately 14 rai on both sides of the canal, stretching from Hua Chang Bridge to Wat Phraya Yang. It is divided into three sections: Ban Khrua Nuea, Ban Khrua Tai, and Ban Khrua Tawantok, with Ban Khrua Nuea as its center.

Ban Khrua is one of the oldest Muslim communities in Bangkok. Historically, it was inhabited by Cham or Khmer Muslims, mostly from Battambang, who were of mixed Cham and Khmer ancestry. The community is known for its warm atmosphere, rich cultural heritage, mosque-centered way of life, Malay-Pattani style architecture, rare local dishes, and traditional silk weaving wisdom.

Ban Khrua was once a renowned silk production area in Bangkok and served as a production source for Jim Thompson Thai silk. Therefore, this creative documentary aims to promote the lifestyle, identity, local wisdom, and cultural heritage of the Ban Khrua community, while preserving and disseminating its traditional knowledge to a wider public through creative communication methods.
