In the experience economy era, the soft furnishing design of commercial spaces is crucial for enhancing consumer experience and commercial value. This study employs cross-case comparison to develop innovative soft furnishing design strategies suitable for commercial plazas in small and medium-sized cities, providing a specific renovation proposal for the Yangjiang Shibazi Investment Plaza. Utilizing field research and case analysis, the study focuses on practical scenarios involving spatial designers, operational managers, and consumers in representative shopping malls in Bangkok (Thailand), Guangzhou, and Yangjiang (China). Results indicate that successful soft furnishing design relies on the creative integration of color, materials, lighting, and interactive installations, effectively enhancing spatial appeal and user experience.

The key conclusion is that soft furnishing design should transcend mere decoration to become a core medium connecting regional culture with modern consumer experience. For renovation projects like the Yangjiang Shibazi Investment Plaza, the study recommends prioritizing a "Naturalized Design + Intelligent Interaction" strategy, fully utilizing local materials and cultural symbols for spatial storytelling. This research provides a design creativity-oriented methodological reference for upgrading similar commercial spaces.
